If you want an answer to this, then you are not the only one. If you know the answer, perhaps you can let us know.
However, last Saturday a group of over twenty (about 20% of the village population) went for a walk during Storm Jorge, armed with litter picking sticks and refuse sacks in order to get rid as much of the rubbish as possible. Many thanks to all who took the time to help with
the litter pick - whether you were picking up the
litter, had baked a cake or served the tea and coffee, it was very
much appreciated.
Particular thanks to Paul Williamson, who with his Parish Councillor hat on, arranged the event. An event which was strangely satisfying and enjoyable, despite the fact that it mainly involved standing in a ditch and picking up other people's rubbish.
Fifteen bags of rubbish, a road closed sign, a road barrier and numerous
car parts were collected. The plan is to do it all again later in the year. Let's hope the
bag count isn't as high next time!
Keep a look out for some more photos in the next Parish Pump
magazine. West Suffolk Council are also keen to highlight our event in
an upcoming press release.
