Hawkedon
Hall hosted the village fete on 3rd
September. Many more people than expected came along, so the small
band of helpers and organisers had their work cut out! The event had
the enviable problem of running out of things to sell - the produce
stand and the barbque proving to be particularly popular. The
excellent sausages and burgers were kindly supplied by Humphrey’s
Butchers in Clare, who also donated the prize for the ‘Bowling for
the Pig’ competition.
Many
thanks to those attended the event and of course to those that
helped. In particular, the village owes a debt of gratitude to Tim
and Linda Cawston for kindly allowing their garden to be invaded once
more.
