HAWKEDON FETE 1ST SEPTEMBER

Preparations for the fete are now well underway, and it is building up to be as good as ever.  All the normal good stuff will be there - lots of local produce, and plenty of opportunities to test your skills and luck.  It promises to be the quintessential English fete in the fabulous walled gardens of Hawkedon Hall.

There will be no need to cook your Sunday roast that day, as the BBQ will again be fired up cooking luxury meats from JR Humphreys of Clare.  Then you will be able to work of the extra calories trying to score a goal against Hawkedon's best goal keeper.  A children's corner will keep the younger members of the family happy, while you peruse the local produce and grab a bargain from the bric-a-brac and the clothes stalls.

The fete start time is midday, as stated below - so ignore anything you might have seen in the Parish Mag stating a later start time.  In keeping with traditional Suffolk ways, the individual responsible for that mistake has been held in the village stocks for a week.

Put the date in big bold ink on your calendar.  Look forward to seeing you there!
